Search for the oil workers missing as a result of the accident at Azerbaijan's Guneshli offshore field have been resumed since Dec.10, Trend was told at the special headquarters created to handle the accident.

The search was suspended last night due to the adverse weather conditions and lack of visibility. None of the missing oil workers was found as of Dec.9.

"The search for the missing has been intensified," said the special headquarters. "Additional helicopters from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the State Border Service, as well as more boats have been involved in the search."

Weather conditions are favorable for conducting the search, according to the special headquarters.

The forces of the State Water Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations continue the search for the missing along the coast.

As a result of a strong storm on Dec.4 at 17:40 (UTC/GMT + 4 hours), a high-pressure underwater gas pipeline was damaged which caused a fire at Guneshli field of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan. Large-scale rescue operation resulted in 33 people being rescued. To date, bodies of seven oil workers have been recovered. Currently, 23 people are listed as missing.
