Special operation held in Nardaran, 5 detained

Five people have been detained as a result of the special operation in Baku's Nardaran township Dec.18, Sabunchu District Police Office told Trend.
Various weapons, ammunition and drugs were seized in the township during the operation held by the Office for Combating Organized Crime of Azerbaijani Interior Ministry, Baku city Main Police Department and Sabunchu District Police Office.
The township resident Natig Karimov told Trend that the special operation kicked off Dec.17 in the evening.
He noted that the detainees were taken to the Office for Combating Organized Crime of the Interior Ministry.
Earlier, five members of a criminal group, operating under the guise of religion, were killed during a police operation in the township of Nardaran Nov.26. Two police officers were also killed in the standoff.
Fourteen members of the criminal group were arrested along with the group's ringleader Taleh Baghirov.
Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office has initiated criminal cases.
