Seven Azerbaijani athletes will join competitions on the 12th day of the Rio Olympics 2016.
Azerbaijani wrestlers Mariya Stadnik (women’s freestyle, 48 kilograms) and Yuliya Ratkevich (women’s freestyle, 58 kilograms), track and field athlete Hayle Ibrahimov (men’s 5000 meters), taekwondo fighter Patimat Abakarova (women’s 49 kilograms), canoe sprinter Valentin Demyanenko (men’s canoe single 200 meters) will perform on the 12th day.
Inna Osypenko-Radomska will join the women’s kayak single 500-meter sprint.
Boxer Elvin Mamishzada (men’s fly, 52 kilograms) will fight for semifinals.
Fifty-six athletes are representing Azerbaijan at the 2016 Summer Olympics, underway in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The games, which kicked off on Aug. 5, will end on Aug. 21, and will be followed by the 15th Summer Paralympic Games on Sept. 7-18.
