On Sept. 24, 2019, Azerbaijan-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry held business skills training seminar for female artisans.

The training program covered such important topics as business registration, accounting, and reporting; personal and business revenue management; legal set-up and contract drafting; and social media marketing. The objectives of the seminar were to expand above-mentioned capacity in female artisans to drastically improve their professional profile and client relationships.

During the session on accounting, Ms. Gunel Hadiyeva, Tax Manager at Ekvita, offered insights into basic accounting, issuance of e-invoices, tax reporting, registration of business, as well as new amendments to the Tax Code that could benefit micro and small businesses.

Management of personal and business income is vital for businesses and Ms. Sevinj Rustamova, Project Manager at Azerbaijan Micro-Finance Association (AMFA), guided participants through the importance of saving and smart expenditure for business growth.

Ms. Sabina Khalilova, Senior Tax & Law Manager at Ernst & Young Azerbaijan, gave important information about legal setup of business, brand and logo registration, and key issues in drafting contracts with corporate clients.

The last session was devoted to Social Media Marketing – a prominent communication and sales channel for female artisans. Ms. Inara Mirza, Head of Marketing Department at “Ders Evi”, shared her knowledge and experience in social media marketing, talked about a range of social media management tools that help entrepreneurs build their brands, increase sales, and grow businesses.

The training seminar was held on the eve of the 3rd Arts and Craft Trade Fair, which is planned to be held in November 2019 by Azerbaijan-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

This year’s Fair, building on the success of the 2nd one, will aim at developing and supporting corporate relationships for female artisans in the run-up to the holiday season.
