Steps should be taken to popularize chovgan [Azerbaijan's national team game involving horses] worldwide, President of the World Ethnosport Confederation Bilal Erdogan said at the Ethnosport Forum in Baku, Trend reports.
According to Erdogan, representatives of more than 40 countries of the world are taking part in the forum.
"There are great expectations from the development of national sports in Azerbaijan. We think that we’ll be able to again hold the National Festival of Nomadic Culture in Gadabay and a similar festival in Baku," he noted..
"We represent our national culture, our country in order to promote our national games in the world. Azerbaijan is also doing similar work. I hope that today's forum will increase interest in national sports both in Azerbaijan and around the world," added the confederation’s head.
