BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6. The First International Food Festival in Azerbaijan’s Shusha [liberated from Armenian occupation in the 2020 second Karabakh war] should be known all over the world, famous Italian chef, and international class master Flavio Basatti told Trend.
"I’ve come to Azerbaijan for the first time and really liked it. I spent two days in Baku, which is the sister city of our Naples, and now I'm in Shusha, where a magnificent food festival is being organized,” Basatti said. “I traveled to many countries of the world and took part in many international festivals. This festival in Shusha is distinguished by its originality.”
“Many kind words can be said about the first such large-scale event. Very famous chefs from many countries are taking part in the festival, which makes it significant,” he noted.
“I have read and heard a lot about Shusha, but what I see here surpasses all words. What an atmosphere, clean air and nature here! This festival should become traditional," added the Italian guest.
The festival's organizers are the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the State Tourism Agency.
Chefs, international experts, and representatives from Turkey, Russia, Germany, Austria, China, France, Georgia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, Turkey, Japan, Belgium, Czech Republic, Canada, Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and other countries are taking part in the festival being held from May 5 through May 8.
Various economic regions of Azerbaijan are represented at the festival.
