BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 1. Over 900 Azerbaijani students studied at US higher education institutions in 2023, US Chargé d'Affaires in Azerbaijan Hugo Guevara told reporters on the sidelines of the EducationUSA Alumni Fair in Baku on June 1, Trend reports.

"This is an increase of 25 percent from 2022 and 62 percent more than after the pandemic ended, really inspiring us. This represents the highest rate in the last decade, and indicates the interest of Azerbaijanis in studying in the US, as well as in the quality of education.

We have many projects in Azerbaijan through our aid agencies. Students have ample opportunities to continue their education in the US at a higher level. The US offers many opportunities," he said.

Guevara also mentioned that the US has over 5,000 universities and colleges in towns and cities that offer all types of learning opportunities.

"Therefore, I believe that one of the opportunities offered by the US is quality education in any field, which makes us attractive to Azerbaijani students," he added.

To note, the US Embassy in Baku, in collaboration with the American Councils for International Education, has organized the EducationUSA Alumni Fair as an exceptional opportunity for high school and university students, as well as their parents, interested in pursuing education in the US.

The fair features representatives from more than 35 US universities along with US Embassy exchange programs.

Additionally, the embassy consular staff shared information about student visas.
