BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8. Azerbaijan's Lachin has held the official closing ceremony of the 5th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth, Trend reports.

At the beginning of the event, a video providing a brief overview of the activities was shown.

The Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs of Azerbaijan, Elshad Aliyev, then delivered a speech highlighting the significance of hosting the 5th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth in Lachin, one of Azerbaijan’s picturesque regions. He expressed confidence that the experience would leave a lasting impression on the participants.

Aliyev noted that this was the first time Lachin had welcomed guests from 60 countries and emphasized that these summer camps, now a tradition, are designed to strengthen the connection between Azerbaijani youth abroad and their homeland, as well as to preserve their cultural attachment. He encouraged the youth to be active in Diaspora activities and in promoting Azerbaijani realities.

He also underscored that such events are crucial for equipping patriotic youth with an advantage in information warfare and combating misinformation.

Huseyn Guliyev, an official representative from the Special Representative Office of the President of Azerbaijan in Lachin, highlighted the significance of hosting the camp in Lachin. He expressed pride in the arrival of 115 young people from 60 countries and hoped that similar events would continue to be held in Lachin in the future.

Certificates were then presented to the camp participants, and prizes were awarded to the winners of the "brain-ring" and football matches.

The "Youth for a Green World" 5th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth was held from August 1 through August 7, 2024, in Lachin. Organized by the State Committee for Work with Diaspora in collaboration with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the camp brought together 115 young people from around the world, including Azerbaijanis and representatives from other friendly nations.
