BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15. The Deputy Minister of Mental Health for the Canadian province of Ontario, Michael Tibollo, is on a working visit to Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
The Canadian official held a series of meetings during his visit, including one with the Chairman of the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora, Fuad Muradov.
Muradov provided detailed information about the state's diaspora policies and the committee's activities at the meeting.
He praised the integration of Azerbaijani compatriots living in Canada into the social, economic, and cultural life of the country. Muradov also thanked Michael Tibollo for his attention and support to the Azerbaijani community.
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, Tibollo emphasized the importance of the Forum of Azerbaijani Scientists Living Abroad and their contribution to science.
Tibollo also met with the Rector of Azerbaijan Medical University, Professor Geray Geraybeyli.
He discussed the work being done in Canada to maintain mental health, including the activities of psychological centers, support for students facing bullying, and various forms of psychological assistance. Tibollo underlined the importance of international cooperation in this field and the exchange of best practices.
Professor Geraybeyli provided insights into the recent developments in psychiatry and psychology in Azerbaijan, including successes and collaborations with international organizations on joint projects.
Tibollo's visit also included meetings with the Executive Director of the Association for the Management of Territorial Medical Units (TƏBIB), Vugar Gurbanov, and the Director of the Mental Health Center, Professor Fuad Ismayilov.
The meetings featured a thorough and wide-ranging exchange of perspectives.
