BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 17. The newly built structure boasting 624 seats for secondary school No. 1 in Aranli village of Imishli district has officially opened its doors for use, Trend reports.
Conditions corresponding to modern standards have been created in the new school building for students' education.
According to information, representatives of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Science and Education, the leadership of Imishli district Executive Power, Martyr families, school staff, and public representatives attended the opening ceremony of the new school building.
Congratulating pupils and teachers on the new school year and wishing them success, the speakers talked of the attention and care shown by our state to the development of education, successes achieved in the education sphere, and strengthening of material and technical base of secondary schools. They expressed gratitude to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva for the attention and care shown.
Furthermore, it was noted that the building of secondary school No.1 in Aranli village, built in 1972, has become unfit for use in the past period. The building of the 624-seat school constructed within the framework of the project realized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been handed over to pupils and teachers from the new academic year.
School director Anar Alakbarov noted that the term of operation of the former building has expired. Difficult conditions in the former school building, old classrooms, and faulty heating systems negatively influenced the educational process. However, now with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation a new building has been constructed for the school that meets modern standards. “Currently, 504 pupils are being educated at the school. Of them, 44 have been admitted to the school preparation group, and 34 to the first grade. On behalf of the staff, we express gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva for their attention and care,” the school director said.
Teyuba Guliyeva, a student of the tenth grade, is also very happy that the new school year is starting in the new school building. According to her, previously the school had no visual aids, which created several difficulties: “Now we will be able to use laboratory rooms and equipment. These conditions will allow students to get a better education. We are all very happy that we now have such a beautiful school.
The three-story building of the school, which consists of four buildings, is fully equipped with necessary furniture and equipment, and subject classrooms and laboratories with visual aids. The school has 29 classrooms, physical, chemical, and biological laboratories, computer science, military training, labor, medical station, library, canteen, assembly and sports halls, and outdoor sports ground. The schoolyard has been landscaped and gardened.
