AGHDAM, Azerbaijan, October 3. Participants of the Int'l Baku Forum of Ombudsmen on Climate Change and Human Rights observed the demining process in Sarijali village of Aghdam district, Trend reports.
According to the information, the participants of the visit were informed about the demining works carried out by the Demining Agency in the territories liberated from occupation.
Moreover, it was noted that the mines laid during the occupation impede the construction and reconstruction process carried out in the region and the return of former IDPs to their native lands.
The Int'l Baku Forum of Ombudsmen on Climate Change and Human Rights was held on 2 October with the participation of more than 60 guests from nearly 30 countries, including ombudsmen and representatives of national human rights institutions, information commissioners, high-ranking government officials, leaders and representatives of civil society institutions, several international organizations, and experts in the field of climate change and human rights - in total, more than 200 people took part in the event.
The Declaration of the International Baku Ombudsmen Forum was adopted following the results of the event.
