“Shahriyar Mammadyarov is fully able to win at youth world championship in Istanbul and gain a ticket for planet cup,” Faig Hassanov, the Vice-President of the National Federation, also referee off international category, told Trend on the eve of departure.
According to Hassanov, the Azerbaijani chess player has a higher rating among the all participants of the competitions. The main rivals of Mammadyarov may be Ukrainian players Andrei Volokitin and Sergei Karyakin. Indian Pentali Kharikrishna is not very strong challenger for victory, taking into consideration that he has gained a ticket for world cup Khanty-Mansiysk.
It should be mentioned that several years ago an Azerbaijani grand master won at planet championship held in Nakhchivan.
