First meeting of Working Group on Co-op of Azerbaijan with UNESCO planned in early Dec

The first meeting of the Working Group on Cooperation of Azerbaijan with the UNESCO is planned in Baku from 12 to 14 December, the Azerbaijani Education Ministry told Trend.

The decision on holding of the first meeting in Baku and draft agenda was discussed during the meeting of Misir Mardanov, the Azerbaijani Education Minister, with the head of the UNESCO. The UNESCO delegation consisted of the heads and the coordinators of the programs implementing in Azerbaijan will arrive in Baku to participate in the meeting.

The UNESCO organized two conference dedicated to development of education in the country in 2005. The first conference was held in Paris in June, the second one - in Baku in August with participation of Koishiro Matsuura, the Director General, where memorandum on cooperation between the UNESCO and Azerbaijan was signed. The memorandum envisages establishment of the working group consisted of 5 people from each side

The Working Group will consider concrete proposal on priorities and hold exchange of opinion on further action plan at Baku meeting.

It should be mentioned that the cooperation of Azerbaijan with the UNESCO covers different projects on education.
