Azeri Health Ministry brings light on situation around death of girls with bird flu' suspicion

The reason causing death of a man, Asgarova Nabat, in Salyan region of Azerbaijan was not bird flu virus, Samaya Mammadova, the spokesperson for the Health Ministry, told Trend.

Though the preliminary researches carried out by specialists of the Health Ministry and the State Veterinary Service showed the reason was not bird flu, the analysis will be sent to a special laboratory.

As to another girl who passed away in this region in February, she died of oncology disease.

Specialists of the Health Ministry are currently in Salyan district to carry out researches. People even with inconsiderable suspicions of acute respiratory virus were taken to hospital. They are regularly examined. Six of them are at the Scientific-Research Institute of Lung Diseases, while two at Hospital 7 of Baku and one more at the Central Hospital of Salyan. The health of the two patients is poor, while the next two are recovering. The official of the Ministry noted there was a probability of absence of bird flu.

She explained that the difficulty in the soonest analysis of all diseased people including the dead girls is mostly linked with the long queue for researches in the laboratories in Cairo and London. The samples enter the laboratory enter through Europe.
