An international conference Islam family and perspectives of gender equality is to be held in Baku on 12 May 2006, Trend reports. The organizers of the conference are the State Committee on Work with Religious Bodies, the State Committee on Family, Woman and Children Problems and UN Population Fund.
The conference is scheduled for May 15 - an International Family Day. The purpose of conference is discussing gender equality in modern families and protection of national and moral values, relations between the community and the family.
The chairmen of both state committees and several experts from the international organizations are expected to participate in the conference to be conducted in the Grand Hotel Europe of Baku.
