Farhad Abdullayev, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Constitutional Court (CC), met Donna Dousett-Koirolo, the Director of the World Bank Southern Caucasus Countries Department, on May 17, 2006. The press service of the Constitutional Court informed IAA Trend.
Abdullayev provided information about the court reforms held over the recent years. Besides, Abdullayev noted that the upgrade project of the court system realized by the Azerbaijan Government in cooperation with the World Bank allowed providing all court organs of the country with modern equipment and creating a better situation for the courts work improvement.
Mrs Douset-Koirolo emphasized that the project would be a beneficial for Azerbaijan`s court organs. She spoke about the necessity of providing the courts with modern equipments.
Several questions connected with the technical provision of the Constitutional Court within the joint program of the Azerbaijan government and the World Bank were also discussed during the meeting.
