On August 24, the chairman of Caucasian Moslem Department (CMD) Shykhiruslam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade met with the Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasili Istratov, Trend has been told in CMD.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the religious situation in Caucasus and mentioned the role of the religion in ensuring high level of relations between Azerbaijan and Russia. In opinion of Shykhiruslam, the relations between Russian Orthodox Church and CMD may serve good intentions.
Istratov delivered the greetings of Russian president Vladimir Putin to Pashazade. The ambassador voiced his confidence that the relations between Azerbaijan and Russia will further develop in the future.
