Farid Mansurov, Athens Olympiad`s Champion on Graeco-Roman wrestling is about to go to the forthcoming World Championships to start in China at the end of September 2006, Trend reports.
According to Head Coach of the Azerbaijani Team Elchin Jafarov, the titled athlete will leave Azerbaijan for the tournament as a member of the national delegation to the championships to see how his rivals of his weight category in their action. Farid has not completely cured his injure yet, and, therefore, he will not be able to take part in the tournament. However, this trip is very important to him, as he will not only to observe his potential rivals, but morally support our team, pointed out the couch.
According to Mr. Jafarov, at present, the athlete contents himself with easy training. The sportsman is to pass a checkup in Germany in October.
