Today, on 9 October, at the trial on the criminal case of Haji Mammadov and his group of criminals consisting of 25 members, the accused Rovshan Aghayev answered the prosecutor's questions. He stated that the head of the gang always described his orders to kidnap as an operation. The court investigation on the criminal case of the former Senior Officer of the Central Criminal Investigation Department of Azerbaijan`s Interior Ministry Haji Mammadov and 35 members of his group presided by Judge Ali Seyfaliyev is held in Azerbaijan`s Court for Serious Crimes, Trend reports.
The accused did not acknowledge the accusations linking them with a number of kidnapping and murders brought against them. He stated that he was only partly involved in the murdering of the gang`s Chechen members, Boris Ayubov and Shirkhan Albiyev.
Haji Mammadov ordered us to bring Boris Ayubov to him, but he did not tell us that he would kill him. At first, Nizami Abdullayev and I brought Boris to the garage belonging to Haji where we tied his hands and legs and put a bag over his head. Then we brought him to Nailya Guliyeva`s home. Haji waited for us there. We asked him what the discussions between them would be about. He replied that it would be connected with an operation job. Generally, he would use the expression linked with an operation job whenever he kidnapped anyone, the accused stated.
Mr. Aghayev also pointed out that when he began working as a driver to Haji Mammadov`s family, he participated in the kidnapping of a woman named Ramila Hajiyeva. However at that time, I did not even know that Haji was kidnapping the woman, as Haji told me this is an operation job. When we reached the Bayil Highway, Haji told me to change the car`s number plates that we used during the kidnapping of the woman, Mr. Aghayev told the court.
