On October 10 during the court session on the criminal cases of the former senior official of the Head Investigation Department of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry Haji Mammadov and the criminal gang headed by him, the former police employee, accused Adalat Asadullayev answered questions presented by the prosecutor and the advocate. The court session on the cases of Mammadov and his gang comprising of 25 persons, is held in the Court of Heinous Crimes of Azerbaijan under the Chair of Judge Ali Seyfaliyev, Trend reports.
According to the preliminary evidences, the former policeman of the Binagadi District Police Department, Asadulayev has participated in robbing the house of the popular actress Afag Malikova, kidnapping Nazim Pashayev, Elshan Hasanov and Javid Manafov. However, the accused person didn't confirm several evidences raised against him.
Asadullayev stressed that when he was working in the police in Sverdlovsk (Russia) in 1979, he met with the member of the gang Huseyn Abdulvahabov. Thereafter, these relations continued in Baku. I and Huseyin became family friends. Afterwards I met with other members of the gang due to Huseyn. But I didn't know that these people committed crimes. Later they presented me as a member of the gang. When I was arrested in March 1995, I knew that I am accused of five crimes committed 10-12 years ago. My evidences were received under pressure, Asadullayev said.
