A Next Meeting of the CIS Education Cooperation Council to Be Held in Spring, 2007

A next (19th meeting) of the Council on Cooperation in the Field of Education of CIS member-states is expected to be held in Dushanbe in March-April, 2007. This decision was made during the 18th meeting of the Council held in Moscow, Trend reports referring to the CIS Executive Committee.

Plenipotentiaries from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Moldova, Russia, the International Academy of Sciences of Higher School, as well as representatives of basic organizations and educational institutions which have a status of observer in the Council, the CIS Executive Committee, and the Secretariat of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member-States took part in the meeting.

The Council made decisions on issues of further development of cooperation in the field of education, including the implementation of an Interstate Program on Implementation of the Conception for the United Educational Space in CIS and preparation of a project on an Actions Plan Aimed at Developing Cooperation in the Sphere of Education considered till 2010; as well as a project on the Decision on Attaching a Status of Basic Organization to the Institute for Adults` Education, a project on an Actions Plan on Implementation of the Conception for Development of Adults` education in CIS Member-States, and proposals on establishing an integrated system of linguistic education of CIS Member-stets, etc.
