US-Azerbaijan Culture Association Created in Miami

The representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Miami have formed the US-Azerbaijan Culture Association (UACA), Trend reports with reference to the State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad.

A joint meeting of the Azerbaijanis residing in Miami was held. During the meeting, exchange of views was held on the initiative of establishing new diaspora organizations. During the meeting, it was stated that it would be useful to keep the entrance open to the membership of the organization which is intended to be called a US-Azerbaijan Culture Association. This proposal was approved.

The participants of the event emphasized that it would be expedient that the center of the organization is located in Miami. The participants of the meeting underlined that it is necessary to hold joint cultural measures and festivals to close introduce the American people to Azerbaijan. They called for all Azerbaijanis to be active in this process. In addition, the participants mentioned the necessity of establishing relations with the Turkish society on Florida State.

At the end of the meeting, elections were held for the Head of the UACA. Tohva Eminova was elected the President of the UACA through open voting. Later the members of the Executive Board were elected. The President of the Assembly of the Turkish Association of America, Vural Chengiz, was also elected to the Executive Board.

Furthermore, during the meeting relevant documents were prepared for the official registration of the UACA and sent to the appropriate bodies of Tallahassee City.
