Chairman of Supreme Court Visits Austria

The Austrian Embassy in Baku announced that Ramiz Rzayev, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan, has completed his visit to Austria, Trend reports.

The key objective of the visit paid from 26 to 29 November 2006 at the invitation of Johann Reshut, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Austria, was to discuss bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Austria with regards to law-enforcement and court matters, definite directions of co-operation to be taken regarding the memorandums already signed.

Bilateral relationships between the Courts of Austria and Azerbaijan were set up in 2006 during the visit of the head of the Austrian Court to Azerbaijan.

During the visit to Austria, Rzayev met with his Austrian counterparts, as well as the Chairman of the Federal Parliament of Austria, Mikhael Shpindileger, the Federal Justice Minister, Karin Gastinger, the Prosecutor General, Valter Preslauer, the Chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court, Klimens Yabloner, Federal Minister of Interior Affairs, Mateya Fogel, and the Head of the Constitution Court of Austria, Brigite Birline.

Rzayev also met with Deputy Chairman of the European Court, Peter Ian.
