The Republic Stadium named after T.Bahramov of Azerbaijan will be closed until March 2007due to the grounds of the new football pitch being treated after recent heavy rains which resulted in the ground being unplayable.
The repairs will take two weeks during which time the stadium will be closed until next year, the Director of the Arena, Akif Ismaylov, informed Trend. Additionally, we are also planning to undertake repairs of the recreation hall located in the arena. Ismaylov said.
As a result of this closure, Baki Inter and Neftchi football teams who usually utilize the Republic Stadium to hold their matches will be expected to find an alternative temporary venue.
