contactmusic.com Beyonce Knowles has quashed rumours that she is about to walk down the aisle with rapper boyfriend Jay-Z.
Rumours have been circling the couple's supposedly nuptials but the ex-Destiny's Child singer has told In Style magazine that her man is just not ready to wed.
"You can't rush a man into anything - whether it's a relationship, marriage or having children. When he is ready, he will let you know," she said.
The singer-actress was rumoured to be marrying her rapper boyfriend, real name Shawn Carter, in an extravagant wedding in the Caribbean last weekend. She told the magazine that her wedding will not be as extravagant as the multi-million dollar rumours.
"I was never one of those girls who dreamed of a big wedding. Maybe me and my man will go away to an island. I have no idea," said Beyonce.
"The rumours about us having a $3 million ceremony in Anguilla, it looks like a nice wedding, very expensive! Unfortunately it is not true."
Beyonce says her parents' successful 27-year marriage has given her high expectations but she is comfortable that her relationship with Jay-Z will follow in the same footsteps because it is based on a strong friendship.
"It's wonderful to understand and want the same things, but the friendship is most important. You know someone loves you by the way he treats you and respects you. You know it by how you both feel when you're together," said Beyonce.
