Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizade / The Chairman of the National TV and Radio Council of Azerbaijan, Nushiravan Maharramly, said on 30 May that the license fee for broadcasting in Azerbaijan will be changed.
He stressed that this issue will be considered during discussions over 2008 State budget. "Several governmental members, especially from offices not related to this sector, including the Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry of Finance did not pay sufficient attention to this issue. As a result, the licensing fee for broadcasting in Azerbaijan was defined in the amount of AZN 11,000," said Maharramly.
He considers it wrong that TV channels transmitted in the country and various regions pay the same license fee.
