Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Alizadeh / Some 3,000 Azerbaijani school pupils flunked final exams.
According to Misir Mardanov, the Azerbaijani Education Minister, 13,000 schoolboys attended the exams.
"By the decision of the Ministry the pupils who did not pass the exams were given the opportunity to try themselves once more. Only 20 pupils passed the next round of exams. The rest will be admitted to exams in 2008. Those who have passed the exams will not have problems with receiving their certificates," the Minister said.
The knowledge level of Azerbaijani school pupils for 2007 can be determined at 85-90%.This is a satisfying index for the first stage, Mardanov considers.
In 2007, the final exams in the schools Sabail and Khatai districts of Baku, in Sumgait and Imishli regions were held by test system.
