Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizadeh / Emin Huseynov, the head of the Azerbaijani Reporters' Freedom and Security Institute, stated during the 'roundtable' organized at the International press centre on 29 June, which was dedicated to the media's problem, that the Institute started a campaign for rendering aid to the families of Azerbaijani arrested journalists.
According to Huseynov, campaign participants, made up of media representatives, will each contribute AZN 1 to 7 which will be provided as aid to journalists' families.
The collected sum will be granted to journalists' families on the eve of National Press Day in Azerbaijan. A commission for distributing the collected sum may be formed.
Huseynov noted that the aim of the campaign is to render aid to journalists' families, which are in poor economic conditions.
Presently, seven Azerbaijani journalists have been imprisoned.
