Azerbaijan, Lankaran / Trend corr. P.Aliyeva / There is a shortage of 79 teachers in Astara-based schools. Gizbaz Mammadova, the head of the Lankaran region Education Department, stated.
Teachers are required for regions and village schools of Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani Education Ministry is holding a special program to resolve this problem. Mammadova noted that the teachers are required mainly for 11 subjects. In 2006 the number reached 101. Fourteen Azerbaijani language teachers and literature, 12 for chemistry teachers, 10 biology teachers and 9 physics teachers are required.
