Trend:
Armenia's economic activity index decreased by 4.7 percent in July 2016 compared to the same period of 2015.
This is a record figure, Aysor.am reported citing Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper.
A decline in the country’s economic activity has not been observed yet in 2016, according to the newspaper.
Just two weeks ago, Armenia’s Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan summed up the figures for the 1H2016 at a cabinet meeting and was satisfied with 4-percent economic growth during that period, said the report. He ordered the ministers to present these figures to the public.
However, the ministers are unlikely to do so, said the newspaper. The 2H2016 hasn’t shown too optimistic figures, with almost all the economic sectors recording a decline.
