Turkmenistan launches new glass plant

A glass plant is put into operation in Ovadandepe in Akhal province of Turkmenistan, a source in the Tajik Ministry of Industry said.

The plant was built in the framework of the state import substitution program and will fulfill demands in local high-quality production on internal market of the country.

The project is carried out by Turkey’s Tepe Turkmen İnsaat ve Tic. A.S..

The enterprise, with a capacity of 7.2 million square meters of glass, will produce transparent and tinted, laminated and tempered glass for the manufacture of windows and glass units, bottles for the food industry and medical industry.

The production is based on local raw materials: silica sand, dolomite, limestone and other components.

Turkmenistan actively develops production of construction materials in the recent years. New innovational products are being manufactured along with traditional constructional materials such as cement, non-metallic products, expanded clay, aerated concrete etc.
