Uzbek company, Samsung to build ammonia and carbamide plant

Uzkimyosanoat JSC and South Korean Samsung Engineering will build a urea and ammonia plant in Uzbekistan worth $ 600 million, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Uzbek president.

It is planned to install modern technologies from the US and Japan at the plant and create 500 permanent jobs.The enterprise will produce 400 thousand tons of ammonia and 600,000 tons of carbamide per year.

A convenient place has been selected for the construction of the plant - there are necessary communications with access to gas, electric and water supply, roads and railways.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction site of a chemical plant located in the city of Yangier during his trip to the Syrdarya region.

The head of state was provided with information on the economic efficiency of future enterprise and schedule of construction work. The president gave relevant instructions to in charge persons while noting the important role of plant in meeting domestic demand and entering foreign markets.

"There is nowhere else such a favorable infrastructure as in Syrdarya. These opportunities will help for the construction and stable operation of the plant, increase attractiveness in the eyes of investors. This is a very profitable, promising project," the head of state said.

Next year, Uzkimyosanoat together with the Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Industries plans to complete the construction of another plant for the production of 660,000 tons of ammonia and 577,500 tons of urea per year. The project worth $ 985.7 million is being implemented on the basis of Navoiazot JSC - the largest chemical enterprise in the country.
