Italian companies seek to continue business with Iran plastic processing companies and attend exhibitions despite current difficult times, said Exhibition Manager at Italian Plastics and Rubber Processing Machinery and Moulds Manufacturers Association (ASSOCOMAPLAST) Fabrizio Vanzan.

He made these remarks in an interview to Trend on the sidelines of the 24th Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals Exhibition.

"ASSOCOMAPLAST represents 160 Italian manufacturers of machinery for processing rubber and plastics and we have a long-term partnership with Iranian industry. The technology produced in Italy has been exported to Iran over last three decades and it has proven to be conducive to growth of the productivity of processing industry in Iran," Vanzan said.

"Of course, the political tension is not helping our trade, import and export activities, and our business transactions. It is unfortunate for the industry, because Iranian businessmen are apparently interested in buying European technology. We hope that the situation will be cleared out soon in the interest of our respectable industries," exhibition manager added.

"Despite these difficult times, we wanted to be here. We have never missed plastic exhibition, but we are certainly worried about the situation," Vanzan indicated.

"As far as we know it is impossible to run business with Iran and it's much more complicated. However, in our opinion, it's important to show our presence even in these difficult times, because we hope that sooner or later the political constraints will be overcome and the business might flourish once again," he said.
