One of the largest IT service providers in Eastern Europe, the IBA Group, is ready to implement several transport projects in Azerbaijan, Director of the technical department of IBA Group (Minsk) Vadim Smotrazayev told Trend.

According to Smotrazayev, at the moment the company is engaged in providing contactless fare payments using bank cards on the suburban trains of Azerbaijan.

“IBA Group provides its customers not only with software but also with devices of its own production. The IBA Group portfolio includes several of its own developments: IBA AFC - an automated fare collection system and IBA AVM - an automated dispatch control system for passenger transport,” the director said.

“The company has successfully implemented projects on these systems in Belarus and Kazakhstan. We are ready to implement non-cash payment systems not only on the railways of Azerbaijan but also on other types of vehicles: in buses, metro,” Smotrazayev said.

He also noted that IBA Group can equip the railway transport of Azerbaijan with validators, which will allow accepting payment for travel using transport or bank cards.

“This method of payment successfully exists on the trains of the city lines of the Belarusian railway,” said Smotrazayev.

The director of the company’s technical department believes that the successfully implemented projects in the portfolio of IBA Group will contribute to the fact that the relevant structures of Azerbaijan can attract the company to the implementation of other transport initiatives.
