BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 10

By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:

The Russian helicopter service center in Azerbaijan will operate at full capacity by 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia told Trend.

According to the ministry, within the framework of five roadmaps, implemented by the two countries, the construction of a service center for the maintenance and repair of Mi-type helicopters is in active stage in Azerbaijan.

“At the end of 2020, equipment for this service center was selected and ordered in Russia. In the next two years, it will operate at full capacity,” the ministry said.

In addition, the ministry noted that construction is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the Azerbaijani economy, and the main investments are directed precisely to this area.

“In this direction, large projects are being implemented that require significant construction work. In particular, it is planned to create large agricultural parks, industrial and technological parks,” the ministry said.

According to the ministry, the Russian side plans to build a plant for production of building and heat-insulating materials in the Hajigabul Industrial Quarter.

The ministry said that a joint plant of the Russian GAZ Group and the Azerbaijani Azermash company for the production of commercial and special-purpose vehicles is already operating in the Hajigabul Industrial Quarter.

“The assembly of light commercial vehicles has begun with an annual production capacity of about 1,000 vehicles per year. In addition, it is also planned to begin construction of a plant for the production of building heat-insulating materials there. This is also an important project for Azerbaijan since the products of the new plant will be exported to neighboring countries,” the ministry said.
