Industrial output increases in Azerbaijan's Baku

The volume of production of industrial goods and services in Baku amounted to 26 billion manat ($15.3 billion) from January through August 2021, which is 24.2 percent or 6.3 billion manat ($3.7 billion) more compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.

According to the report, 75.2 percent of industrial production accounted for extractive industry, 21.6 percent - in the processing sector, 2.4 percent - in the production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 0.8 percent - in the water supply, waste treatment and recycling sector.

The share of the private sector in the industrial sector was 82.8 percent. The share of industrial products in the total production volume amounted to 91.3 percent, industrial services - 8.7 percent.

As of September 1, 2021, the stock of finished products in the warehouses of industrial enterprises amounted to 301.7 million manat ($177.4 million), a decrease of 3.11 percent or 9.7 million manat ($5.7 million) on annual basis.

The warehouses of industrial enterprises also store products purchased from other enterprises and intended for resale in the amount of 73.1 million manat ($43 million). This figure, decreased by 14 percent or 11.9 million manat ($7 million) over the year.

In 2020, the volume of production of industrial goods and services in Baku amounted to 29.7 billion manat ($17.4 billion), decreasing by 4.8 percent compared to 2019. At the same time, 74.6 percent of industrial products were produced in the mining industry, 22.5 percent in the processing sector, 2.1 percent in the production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 0.8 percent in the sector water supply, cleaning and waste processing.
