The contactless transactions through Apple Pay have the highest level of security, head of the MasterCard representative office in Azerbaijan Erdem Cakar said in an interview with Trend .
Cakar said that all the information of Apple Pay owner goes tokenized and encrypted.
“So it’s the highest level of security,” head of the MasterCard representative office in Azerbaijan said. “You can also make online transactions for e-commerce. For Grocery Apple Pay transaction we give 5 AZN cashback overall. It is open for all the people who add their cards to apple pay.”
Cakar added that people are registering their cards on their iPhones and already started to use their Iphones as a substitute for bank cards.
“With the apple pay launch, your iPhone becomes the bankcard,” head of the MasterCard representative office in Azerbaijan said. “And with your phone everywhere where the contactless transactions are accepted you can make payments.”
“We are supporting cashless Azerbaijan, we are supporting the transactions to be as cashless as possible,” Cakar said. “In 2021, the cashless transactions in Azerbaijan doubled as compared to 2017.”
The head of the MasterCard representative office in Azerbaijan added that the vision of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan on cashless payments is clear.
“We have signed a digital country partnership, under which we are working to increase the cashless payments,” Cakar said. “You can add your card to the wallets and make a payment in both IOS & android devices.”
