Azerbaijan reduced electricity production in October 2021 by 273.1 million kilowatt-hours compared to the same period last year - to more than 2.16 billion kilowatt-hours, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy.
According to the ministry, electricity production in Azerbaijan in 10M2021 increased by 1.554 million kilowatt-hours compared to the same period in 2020 - up to more than 22.8 billion kilowatt-hours.
"During this period, thermal power plants (TPPs) of Azerbaijan produced over 21.4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, which exceeds the same period last year by 1.39 million kilowatt-hours. At the same time, hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) generated about 1.11 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, which is 162.5 million kilowatt-hours more than a year earlier," the ministry reports.
Also, the production of electricity by wind power plants, solar power plants and a power plant for the disposal of solid waste amounted to 288.3 million kilowatt-hours, increasing by 2.9 million kilowatt-hours over the year.
At the same time, wind power plants produced 77 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, solar power plants - 48.5 million kilowatt-hours, a solid waste disposal plant - 162.8 million kilowatt-hours.
