BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 11

By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:

The Azerbaijani Unibank bank is developing a new supply of banking services to the client, the head of the Unibank digitalization department Sattar Kazimov told Trend.

According to Kazimov, payments using a mobile phone and a watch from Apple are the same payments by cards, only in a new format for Azerbaijan.

"We are working on updating the interface of banking applications based on modern standards and requirements of the bank's clients. This also includes the expansion of digital banking products. In addition, we are working on integrating interesting solutions for the new, modern and young generation into the mobile bank," he said.

He added that Unibank's strategy includes securing itself with new market positions (in the retail and corporate sectors) and increasing the overall market share, as well as developing a portfolio of retail and business loans.

Kazimov also noted that the bank does not plan to create new banking products.

Earlier it was reported that the base of active Unibank users amounts to about 590,000 people, 300,000 online users, and 170,000 users with digital cards.

Unibank is one of the largest private banks established in Azerbaijan in July 1992. After the merger of Mbank with PROMTEXBANK, one of the leading banks in Azerbaijan, the name of the bank was changed to Unibank.
