The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and India exceeded $620.4 million from January through October 2021, which is by 18.88 percent or $124.5 million more than in the same period of last year ($659.8 million), Trend reports with reference to the report of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
Azerbaijan exported products worth $505.5 million to India during the reporting period while the products worth about $114.9 million were imported from this country.
According to the State Customs Committee, India's share in Azerbaijan's total export volume in the reporting period reached three percent while in total import volume - 1.23 percent. At the same time, India’s share in Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover reached 2.37 percent.
Thus, the balance of foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and India during the reporting period turned out to be positive, exceeding $390.6 million.
In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover exceeded $26.1 billion from January through October 2021. About $16.8 billion (64.56 percent) out of this amount accounted for export while more than $9.3 billion (35.44 percent) accounted for import.
The balance of Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover, remaining positive, increased by 2.2 times on an annualized basis up to 7.5 billion manat ($4.4 billion).
The foreign trade surplus reached almost $3.5 billion in the same period of 2020.
