Hungarian companies are interested to take part in restoring Azerbaijan’s areas liberated from Armenian occupation [in the 2020 second Karabakh war], the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary told Trend.

According to the ministry, Hungarian Export-Import Bank (EXIM) expressed its readiness to offer funds worth 105 million euros to the local companies for participation in the restoration projects.

“Consultations regarding specific reconstruction projects are ongoing, both at government level and between potential corporate partners,” the ministry said.

On March 10, 2021, during the visit of Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó to Baku, a business forum between Hungarian and Azerbaijani companies was organized, the ministry reminded.

“The forum focused on promoting the participation of Hungary in the reconstruction of Azerbaijan’s liberated territories. Our companies represented their capacities in the industrial and other sectors necessary for the reconstruction of basic infrastructure. Besides, Hungarian companies also participated in the first exhibition dedicated to Karabakh’s restoration - Rebuild Karabakh,” stressed the ministry.
