Azerbaijan is interested in developing trade-economic ties with the US and is taking important steps towards expanding the cooperation, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham) Nargiz Nasrullayeva told Trend.
According to Nasrullayeva, Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the expansion of international economic ties, and in these terms, events organized with the participation of business circles play an important role in deepening cooperation between the US and Azerbaijan.
"Trade missions and other joint activities contribute to the development of US-Azerbaijani economic cooperation and increase the interest of potential investors in the economic opportunities available in our country,” she said. “The fact that over 200 US companies are represented in various sectors of the Azerbaijani economy, including industry, agriculture, construction, services and other areas, as well as the recent growth in trade between the two countries compared to previous years, indicate that trade-economic relations of our country with the US today are at a high level.”
She also noted that, unfortunately, in 2020 and 2021, the whole world was faced with the unforeseen impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, both on the economic sphere and on other industries.
"Nevertheless, taking into account the consistent reforms carried out by the Azerbaijani state and a number of projects planned by our organization for the current and subsequent years, we can express hope that 2022 will open a new stage in the economic relations of the two countries, as well as predict an increase in the investment opportunities and trade-economic ties," stressed the president.
