The rise in global food prices also exerted pressure on Azerbaijan in 2021, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov said while discussing the Cabinet Ministers’ report on activity in 2021 at a plenary session of the Azerbaijani parliament, Trend reports.

Asadov said that the external factors of inflation have become more active in Azerbaijan.

The prime minister also stressed that food inflation amounted to 60 percent of the general inflation in 2021.

“The anti-inflationary policy is one of the important spheres of the Azerbaijani government's economic policy and is aimed at minimizing the impact of inflation on the population,” Asadov said.
