BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 7. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Union (EU) and the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) have reached an agreement on technical cooperation in attracting foreign direct investments in Azerbaijan's non-oil sector, Trend reports via the EBRD.

According to the bank, within the agreement, it’s planned to redirect the products of the country's non-oil sector to European markets, which will serve to further expanding its export potential.

"A five-year national strategy developed by AZPROMO aims to double Azerbaijan's non-oil exports by 2026. As part of this technical cooperation, the EU will develop proposal packages and investment-targeting strategy for five priority areas of the Azerbaijani economy. At the same time, in particular, the branches of agriculture and fisheries are considered,” the EBRD said.

Within this initiative it’s planned to analyze target markets and train AZPROMO staff in effective presenting and organizing road shows (personal meetings with investors).
