BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 7. The current account surplus of Azerbaijan's balance of payments is being projected at 23.7 percent of GDP in 2022, Trend reports referring to Fitch Ratings.
The figure exceeds by 15.8 percent the forecast indicated in the December report of Fitch Ratings, the agency said.
According to the agency's analysts, the increase in the projected figures results from the country's energy export growth, as well as high prices and demand for them.
Fitch experts believe that this will help strengthen Azerbaijan's external reserves.
