BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 7. The Azerbaijan Jewelers Association has established contacts with major distributors in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, Chairman of the Association Toghrul Abbasguliyev told Trend.
"The association is trying to assist local producers in terms of establishing contacts with foreign importers," Abbasguliyev said.
He also said that an international jewelry festival will be held for the first time in Uzbekistan's Bukhara city on May 21-26.
According to the association’s head, several Azerbaijani brands are planned to be presented in the above festival: Resm, Butali, Minali, Irs and Shakh Filigree.
"After the COVID-19 pandemic, demand is recovering. We also predict an increase in exports. Potential importers of Azerbaijani jewelry are the CIS countries, Turkey and the UAE. In the future, the list of importing countries will also include the states of Eastern Europe," added Abbasguliyev.
The Azerbaijan Jewelers Association Public Union was established in February 2020 following the initiative and with the support of the Azerbaijani Small Business Development Agency (SMBDA). The main goal of the Union is to make Azerbaijan a regional jewelry center.
