BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. The number of toll points on Azerbaijan's Baku-Guba-Russian border (152-kilometer) highway is five, Spokesman for State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads Anar Najafli told Trend.
According to Najafli, points will be installed at the main entrances and exits of the highway – on territories of Khizi, Davachi, Siyazan, Guba and Gusar districts.
"The completion of the construction and commissioning of this road is planned for a period from the end of 2022 through the beginning of 2023. Payment points will also be established for entrance to the highway during this period," Najafli said.
Najafli also said that the alternative and free Baku - Guba road is being restored.
"Rehabilitation of this road is being carried out to provide motorists with a high-quality toll road and a free road. The advantages of a toll highway will be that it does not pass through settlements and the speed limit is up to 110-120 km/h," he noted.
The construction of this road will accelerate the transportation of goods through the territory of Azerbaijan along the North-South international transport corridor and will reduce congestion of roads in the direction of the border with Russia.
