BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. Azerbaijan's Baku Non-Ferrous and Foundry Company LLC plan to boost the manufacture and export of metallurgical products, the company's Production Director Khalid Mahmudov told Trend.

According to him, the production capacity of one furnace constitutes about 2,000 tons per month.

"Some 13,500 tons of ferroalloys have been manufactured following the results of 2021. This indicator is supposed to reach 15,000 tons in 2022. Moreover, the company aims to produce ferromanganese after the launch of the second furnace. We also intend to import high-quality raw materials from Turkiye, Germany, Ukraine, and Russia in order to achieve output growth," Mahmudov said.

He noted that 90 percent of products are exported to Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, the US, Canada, Japan, and Turkiye.

"Azerbaijan had previously imported ferrosilicon, but after the launch of our ferroalloy furnace, the country could meet domestic needs and established exports," Mahmudov stated.

As for the director, it's scheduled to launch the production of other types of ferroalloys: ferrochromium, ferrosilicomanganese, etc.

Thus, as many as $51 million have been invested in the construction of the enterprise with five hectares. The company is a resident of the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park.
