BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. Turkish ports transshipped over 33.9 million tons of cargo in July 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told Turkic World, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, in the reporting month, ships under the flag of Türkiye delivered 2.8 million tons of cargo, and ships under the flags of other countries – more than 31 million tons to the ports.
Meanwhile, 6.23 million tons of transit cargo were delivered to the Turkish ports, the ministry said.
The ports of Türkiye received 231.17 million tons of cargo from January through July 2022.
During the specified period, cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye through local ports amounted to 16.5 million tons, while by ships under the flags of other countries – 214.5 million tons, the ministry noted.
Turkish ports handled 47.8 million tons of transit cargo in the first seven months of this year.
The ports of Türkiye handled 386.3 million tons of cargo in 2021.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 29.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries - 356.3 million tons last year.
Besides, Turkish ports handled 78 million tons of transit cargo in 2021.
