BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 22. Turkish ports handled 754,960 tons of cargo from Croatia in the first eight months of 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, 15,659 tons of the cargo were delivered to Turkish ports under the flag of Türkiye, and 587,879 tons by ships under the flags of other countries.
From January through August this year, 151,422 tons of cargo were delivered to Turkish ports by Croatian-flagged ships.
In the reporting period, Turkish ports handled over 1.16 million tons of transit cargo from Croatia, the ministry added.
Turkish ports totally transshipped over 33.4 million tons of cargo in August 2022.
In the reporting month, ships under the flag of Türkiye delivered 2.3 million tons of cargo, and ships under the flags of other countries – more than 31 million tons to the ports.
At the same time, 6.2 million tons of transit cargo were delivered to the Turkish ports.
Turkish ports totally handled 264.6 million tons of cargo in the first eight months of 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye through local ports in the specified period amounted to 18.9 million tons, and by ships under the flags of other countries – 245.69 million tons.
Meanwhile, Turkish ports handled 54 million tons of transit cargo.
